A campaigning newspaper. Fore Street was the centre of the newspaper and printing trade in Exeter during the 19th and 20th-century. No 143, Fore Street, the 18th-century town house of Sir Thomas Bury, was the headquarters of the Western Times, run by Charles Dicken's friend, Thomas Latimer . It was Latimer who introduced Exeter's first steam.

About Exeter's Fore Street Flea returns Exeter's popular destination street market, the Fore Street Flea, makes a welcome return to the city on Sunday 12th September. The Fore Street Flea celebrates Exeter's independent West Quarter and will be open to the public between 12pm - 4pm.

The village was founded by James Badgery, who was born near the County Town of Exeter in Devon, England. He arrived in New South Wales in 1799, and by 1812 was operating 'Exeter Farms' near Bringelly. His fortunes prospered and he explored further south arriving in what is now Exeter in 1819. In 1821 Badgery took up a 500-acre land grant on.
